The soda bread contest takes place in March at T.S. McHugh's Irish Pub & Restaurant. Drop off entries between 12:30 and 1:30PM. Each loaf should be placed in an unmarked paper bag and must be accompanied by an entry form. There is no fee to enter. Each contestant may submit only one entry in each category.
Below each category is a list of permissable ingredients. N.B.: only glorified soda bread may contain baking powder.
Entries in this division are based on these ingredients:
The entry must be basic soda bread; additional ingredients may be used without restriction. However, cakes are not acceptable because they are not soda bread. Also, because this is a soda bread contest, no yeast-risen breads are allowed.
